Ready to fit a towel radiator but will have to alter the pipework.
Don't want to use compression joints because it will be awkward to get under the floorboards once the bathroom is complete.
Currently the return pipe from the existing rad is joined onto a 22mm pipe back to the boiler. I will need to remove and add new 15mm pipe but how close to the 22mm pipe can I solder my new joint without the heat affecting the existing T joint. ?

It depends Rolling Eyes Wink

How far away is it? Can you post a pic?

You can get real close but you have to take precautions.

That depends on how good your soldering skills are. and it may pay you to cut the pipe further away and come back.

You could wrap a wet rag around the fitting, or if you use Laco flux you could dip the end of the solder in the pot and touch it up afterwards.

Or you could replace the Tee as well and use a street elbow.

Thanks for the suggestions, when I've got the floorboard up I'll try and take a pic. Cheers, Mark.
