I have a dishwasher Hotpoint/Aquarius DWF40.
W hen putting it on this morning the start alarm sounded a bit different and the machine just stays in pre wash mode. It isn't filling with water either, yet the water supply is ok in the rest of the house.
Anyone got any ideas?
cheers

Different machine similar fault. Used to strip the machine down to fix it. When it happens now I open the door remove the bottom tray and give it a clout (flat of hand) in the vacinity of the water inlet. Works every time. In our machine there's a small thin, plastic water tank in this location between the two skins with a float valve in it which sometimes sticks in the up position when it should be down. Worth a try
