i have a persistent black mould & peeling paint problem with an external facing wall (alleyway)
condensation is a real problem during winter partly because of drying wet clothes indoors!
anyway i have been recommended a Remcon home ventialtion system wich works by pressuirsing the air so forcing out the condensation
apparently this will eliminate the problem or i get my money back after 3 months
the unit cost is £400 with another £100 fitting
does anyone have any experience with this or similar? what are your views on this?

do not believe a money back gaurentee that you are promised without looking at the small print

there will be exclusions penaltys conditions exceptions additional charges or the company will go bust leaving you with an hire purchase agreement and a box worth £95

Can't say whether they're any good or not, but it would be very interesting to know how they are supposed to work.

its a positive pressure ventilation system...
basically sits in the ceiling on the landing, draws air in from the roofspace through the eaves vents etc and blows it into the house, the idea being it raises the air pressure and the moisture laden air escapes through vents elsewhere...
Ive taken a few out of council properties...
they have a timer fitted to em so the company can tell how many hours its been working...
yes, it'll work, provided the rooms where the problem is are sufficiently well ventilated to allow the moisture laden air to escape...

pdf leaflet

theres more than one way to skin a cat though....
insulating the affected walls would be a better idea, and installing better passive ventilation, shutting the bathroom door, installing a timed extractor in the bathroom, and a 6" extractor in the kitchen / utility would be my best idea...

the insulation would keep the room warmer and reduce heating bills...

timed fans are only used when theyre needed and are efficient at what they do...

same with the kitchen...

but give it a whirl by all means....

as I said, Ive taken a few out... you need to have em running constantly... and the council tenants dont....
