i watched alot tim. i think like you said, alot of the bands were average and very samey. though i think that may be the fault of the trendy bbc coverage. im sure alot of the other smaller stages had some decent stuff on. saw some very good (if somewhat small) snippets on the jazz/world stage. especially those flamenco guitarists getting the crowd to sing the whole of Wish you were here.
another hightlight was iggy pop. total rock n roll.
laughable moment was kasabian singer pleading with the crowd to "get involved"
even though i dont like her i enjoyed amy winehouse on the jazz/world stage.
artic monkeys looked out of their depth.
one last thing....
wtf is the point of lilly allen? |

Perhaps I'm still trying to get the mud off!
Yer, some of the bands where quite samey...
Missed The Who, guess not my generation! Was watching the chemical brothers instead!
I saw some great acts in the cabaret tent, including 4 poofs & a piano! :)
The killers did a great set, but they had to turn the volume right down, as the wind was blowing the sound into the village!
Was alright at 10.30 the next morning when the National Youth Orchestra started with Fanfare For The Common man! Owww, not good to get woken up by!
Lots of people came round to Lily after seeing her... And Amy Winehouse was far better on the Jazz world stage, than on the Pyramid (was passing for 10 mins!) She is shot to bits tho, and well pissed, had to sit down for 5 mins while she introduced the band and they did a one by one jam session.
I was impressed by The Editors & The Automatic.
Shirley Bassey was a legend, so good, and could tell she actually was happy to be there!
err, what else... plenty of cider, including the festival strengh 7% pear cider!
heres a list of who I saw, i think
Unknown group on Jazz world doing a Thursday soundcheck set
Gorgol Bordello
Amy Winehouse (Pyramid) part of set
The Coral
Simian Mobile Disco, in the dance tent, very mad, lots of spaced out ravers
Amy Winehouse (Jazz World) right near the front
Bjork, totally mad
Mr Hudson & The Library
Lily Allen (with the Specials)
Phil Kay - comedian
Mitch Benn - comedian
4 poofs & a piano
The editors
The Killers
Big Beats
The Marley Brothers present Exodus
James Morrison
Shirley Bassey
Mika (about 5 mins as I walked past Other Stage)
Mark Ronson
Just Jack
Chemical Brothers _________________ www.hintonheating.com

i dont think she has cred, she is just good for the media as she will say anything to get noticed so makes for a good headline, story etc _________________ Decking |

oh and I thought the killers looked sh*t
but then I dont get the hype with the killers they have had a couple of half decent singles on the first album then nothing special imo
I heard a story that they turned down playing in 2005 as they felt they didnt have enough material, well they should have thought this again
they are the poor mans U2 _________________ Decking |

was reading one of mrs panlids mags and lilly was in it crying that she has a complex about her looks. all this after she slagged off cheryl cole and cheryl answered back.
she can give it out but cant take it.
much like her dad.
as for the killers. perfect 'glasto' band.
cool and bland. |
