Hi. I'm new to the site and have just moved into my first home.

I am thinking of buying a tabletop dishwasher. I've never lived anywhere with a dishwasher so I am a little clueless. I know they have to go near the sink, but the only place near my sink is on top of my small fridge. Is this ok? Or do they have to be put on top of on an actual worktop? My only alternative woule be to put the dishwaser into the cupboard underneath the sink. However, this would make the dishwasher lower than the drainage pipe. Am I right in assuming the water would siphon?

Also, I would have it fitted so it drained into the sink drain, which the washing machine also drains into. Would this be too much drainage for the pipe? As I wouldn't want it blocking up all the time.

Thanks for anyone's help :)

I would imagine it would be ok on top of the fridge.

I doubt the water would syphon out by putting it too low.

The sink waste pipe should be ok, but if it does start to drain slowly you can give it a blast with a plunger or similar-

Under the unit would be best.

You can buy a trap with a spigot on for a dish washer.
