Hi there, reached round to get some bog roll from the sink unit and it was wet, on closer inspection all the plastic couplings were loose, tightened them up but the water kept coming!, it appears that the water is coming from the joint at the sink, it was also loose! tightend that but it is still leaking any advice about how to fix this would be appreciated. It was fitted 3 years ago so couldn't have been leaking since them.......................help
Thanks in advance

Have you turned the water off.
How do you mean loose, are they push fit fittings, or compression.

Hi Scruff, they are all screw fittings, but where the waste pipe/fitting meets the sink there isn't a visable nut to tighten the sink had an intrgral plug operated by a plunge up/down mechanisim at the back of the taps, the plug isn't attached to the mechanisim but looks like it should be, anyway the leak is definatly coming from whrere the waste meets the pipe, it's an Ideal standard sink and at the leak point there is no nut to tighten.
Thanks in advance

That looks like it's running down from above, is water getting in around the tap.
Also check the overflow.

Hi again, I had a closer look and it seems the water is coming from the waste connection where it meets the sink can't feel water above that level, the leak is worse after the sink is used so looks like its the connection. How or what should I use now to fix it?
Thanks in advance

I was looking at the drips above the waste on the chrome.
The trap is easy to solve and someone has made the classic mistake.
Remove the trap, (don't empty it in the sink) and cut 3mm off the nut where it screws unto the waste, and replace, problem solved.

Hi Scruff, the water is coming from where the chrome meets the sink and not the plastic nut, could this be easily disconected and sealed with something?
Thanks in advance
