Hi all, I live in a 1950's semi detatched bungalow with a small 2.5m x 3.8 flat roof extension on the back that looks as if it was built in the 50's, the extension contains the kitchen which is open plan to the dining room(3.3mx3.8m) the radiator is 8545 BTU's just enough (i think) to cover both rooms. The house also sits on timbers and has a void underneath (not sure of the proper name for it), apart from the extension which has concrete foundations. The big problem is that the kitchen windows at night get so much condensation that it runs off and pools on the sill, I have fitted trickle vents on every window and have the heating on regular, not sure what else i can do, I have double glazing too, the problem is also in my bedroom which is also on the back of the house which is north facing. Please advise.

trickle vents are no good for condensation they only stop the the air going stale

as the likely coldest rooms in the house the condensation will collect there
you need extraction whilst cooking extraction when showering bathing or using the bathroom for prolonged washing

you need daily ventilation with windows open say for 40 mins after the morning heat cycle and take it from there

other things to avoid do not dry washing on radiators or indoors
close the bathroom and kitchen doors when in use

keeping the heating on doesn't help with with the dampness it just make the air capable off holding more moisture untill it cools down
