hi am new here and am looking for advice on plastering
i install air con,,,,but my true trade is stained glass
i have tilied bathroom and kitchen walls and floors and laid laminate in the house
i live a 120 year old house and the walls all need some tlc,,,trouble is i have tried filing and sanding walls but just is not enough to get the walls right,,recently had a plaster in to skim a couple of walls and now am looking into skimming a few walls myself, as i feel i would be alright at it
i understand i will not achieve the standard of a pro plaster but with a couple of walls in house i cant make it no worse
so here i am new to the forum ready to pick every ones brains for plastering tips,,thx snox Laughing

Hi and welcome,

Some people can pick up skimming really quickly and at least you are prepared to have a go at it. If it goes wrong (hopefully it won't Wink )
You can pva over the top and get the pro's in and it will only of cost you a few quid for the materials Wink

thx for reply,,you are right for what it costs it has to be worth a try and i really cant make the wall any worse even if my first attempt goes t*ts up

Exactly!

I have seen some people try to plaster by just looking at the pictures and explanations on here and they have done a really good job. It's amazing really that some people can do this and it always makes me happy that ehy have had a go themselves Wink
