I am about to install a towel radiator in my downstairs shower room - I am toying with the idea of making it dual fuel but am unsure if this would be allowed - the radiator hangs from a wall at right angles to a built in shower - the wire from the heating element would be taken through the wall and wired into a fused spur on the wall in the hall way meaning there would be no switches /sockets in the actual shower room - I would get an electrician in to make all connections but need to know if this is possible before setting it out . The wire coming out of the bottom of the heating element would be 2m away from the shower head . The towel rail would be on it's own independent circuit protected by an mcb and rcd - Thanks for any help

Fine...did this (or similar) in my last bathroom, not a problem...think it was a 180 watt electric element sfcu on the "other side of the wall"

Nice one - not sure what rated element i will need? - will probably only use the electric side in the summer to dry off towels when central heating isn't on - rad is 300 x 1200

If you are buying off the shelf at B&Q /Homebase/wickes then the packaging will give the recommended wattage for the immersion...if buying from an indie, ask!
