Just curious - have any of you on here worked in Sennen Cove in Cornwall in the last couple of weeks? I was on holiday down there and had just walked the coast path from Lands End and was just walking into Sennen Cove when I spotted a decorator having a break in his van. We got chatting but I forgot to ask his name. Just wondered if he's on here...?

Hahaha. Yes, in some places! Well, 3G anyway.

We drove down to Cornwall in my van as it has a much lower fuel consumption than Mrs d'A's car (especially the way I drive compared to her  ) and halfway through our holiday the alternator went. I can't fault the service we received from a local garage that was, quite literally, up an old farm track. We had no phone signal in the cottage where we were staying so Mrs d'A said to the mechanic: "We have no phone signal down there but the cottage does have WiFi; shall we send you a WhatsApp message to see how you're getting on?" He said, in his strong Cornish accent: "Madam, I am a Cornish mechanic. I don't even know what that is!" Hahaha! He fixed my van the same day and, because we weren't in when he called round, he sent his colleague out to collect me the next morning. Absolutely brilliant service.

Funny you should say that... My mrs drives a 1.6 renault megane auto, she gets average 33/34 mpg. when I drive it I average 38/41 mpg.

My work vehicle I get 54/55 mpg. Mrs. can't drive it as it has a proper cable to operate the clutch...

Mrs d'A gets barely 300 miles from a full tank of petrol in her Astra estate.

I get 525 miles from a full tank of diesel in my (same mark) Astra van.

I have banned her from driving my sign-written (with my name) van after she came home from a trip to the local shops and boasted how she'd told someone to f**k off after he'd not said thank you after she'd let him out of a space in the car park.

My missus is also much worse for fuel economy than myself. We only have the one car between us, she gets between 28-30mpg whereas when I drive it I can usually get 32-34. Never tested on a longer trip as I nearly always drive then.

Do you think that might not be a positive contribution to marketing your business? :-)
