So the Doctor has been Male since time immemorial , the BBC have given in to the calls from various groups to make the "New" Doctor a Woman. The Daleks could not kill Him, The Cybermen could not kill Him..

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio ... 3th-doctor

Someone called Jodie Whittaker. She may be a very fine actress (note actress not actor...)

The BBC seem to pandering to every Liberal and or LGBT and not to the vast majority of us.

Just saying

I haven't watched it since the days of tom baker/sylvester McCoy so it won't bother me anyway
Are male and females not called by the term actor anyway? Or is it just the dyke ones that are called actors?

I was reading about the possibility in the Sunday Times this morning and I guessed it would be her over Kris Marshall who would have been a good Doctor Who. It has been stupid for years now and Tom Baker was best for me. I have never really watched it since. In the last series there was an underlying lesbian theme. The BBC is run by a load of PC lefties who need a good weeding out.

That just about sums it up for me too.
Not giving offence is one thing. Looking for "offence" in everything and "putting it right" at our expense is quite another.
As you say the BBC needs a good sorting out.

' The Doctor ' is just another type of super hero/heroine and I don't really see having a female play the role as a problem, the series needs to be given a new lease of life and what better way than to give the role to an actress.
As to the BBC, I think it is run by a top heavy PC correct administration that is totally out of touch with joe public's needs and wants. It should be disbanded in its present form and relaunched with a better set of objectives and funding that is not wasted like it seems to be at the moment.

It's obvious 'Nurse Who' now......

I didn't watch this seasons runs because of the 'gay' thread (lezzy assistant). I wonder who else objected and refused to watch because of their blatant political quest to de-gender the world?

The BBC are just pathetic. Where or what next? I can guarantee there'll be a Muslim episode in the next season.

PC gone mad.

No doubt they'll be hiding the viewing figures in case it exposes their policy for the stupidity it is. Perhaps they can audition Arnold Swartzenegger for the role of Wonder Woman next..... ::b

I've never watched it but might do now.

Might even have a box of tissues with me while watching it...not for any particular reason :-)

I got used to Dr Who being a woman and Peter Capaldi looked very much like a female pensioner. A bit like Mick Jaggar these days http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/05/ ... 34x738.jpg

You are not wrong there John, I got home from work to see the Mrs had parked the new car in the bush, I sarcastically said
had the reversing sensors failed and she said she didn't hear them as the boy was shouting at her ::b

Obviously the shouting stopped the mirrors working as well.
