I saw a few locals get lifted by the police, and they are not PC lol, thier crime?????, talking to tourists!!!!, they are not allowed to mix or annoy the tourists, if they are talking to them any longer than 10 mins, then a police car turns up, no questions, just handcuff them and take them away.
Its unbelievable what the locals cant do, they are not even allowed to walk along side you specially in the evenings.
The more times I go over, the more I learn, its unbelievable that people are living like this.

I wouldn't want to spend my life living in a "safe" environment but in fear of the authorities :cb
On a brighter note: aren't you barred from America if you have a Cuban stamp in your passport.

Funny enough there is no stamp on my passport, and I have been 4 times, you can ask for it to be stamped if you wish, but it will cause problems if you wish to go to America.

The Cubans really dont know any better, but they are learning, but it is so difficult for them, everything is set out on stone for them, they are told where to work, and what job they train for, and they accept it.
The tourists are not in any fear, as the goverment want the tourists to come back, and if anything untoward happened to a tourist by a local, they would bang them up and throw away the key.
Its sad really that any tourist could lie or make an allegation against a local, and the tourist would be believed everytime over the local.

A mate of mine went to Iceland and he requested that they stamp his passport, so they did, but on the deported page

Every time someone checked his passport they wanted to know why he had been deported from Iceland

If you go to Israel they'll stamp your passport and then you can't get into an Arabic country. But you can get a second passport to avoid the problem. Costs you the same as the first passport though. Shows they're not all born in Jerusalem.

I went to Israel once, on a trip from Cyprus. Instead of stamping the passport they gave us an additional piece of paper that was then stamped instead.
