Hi

I have some walls in a bedroom that have very fine cracks in, can I just skim over or do I need to v them out but there is quite a few.

It is old plaster the hairline cracks don't seem to be getting any worse.

if that wall is nice and solid then fully meshing would be ideal... as in 1m wide scrim on a roll bedded well into the first coat of plaster, or fibreglass fibres in the first coat...

doesnt sound like movement cracks, just shrinkage cracks over a long period, dehumidifiers can do this

If they are cracks, then solve the problem that is making them crack.

It sounds like it is just crazing, in which case just put a thinned coat on and then a coat of something substantial such as acrylic undercoat, before the usual two topcoats.
