I pre-ordered Call of Duty: MW3 ages ago to get delivered today (day of release) off Amazon.co.uk. Last night I noticed on the Status that it was "Shipping Soon" - it was only until 11.30am that changed to "In Transport".

At 6pm I contacted Amazon and the lad apologised and said he had just been in contact with Home Delivery Network and there is a delay and I wont get it until tomorrow. Fuming, since I have been waiting in all day, I asked him to ask HDN to give me a rough time for tomorrow to which he replied that it will take 2-3 hours to get an email reply. I asked why can't he just phone them, like he has just done and ask them. Turns out he hasnt been in contact with them and they has been a delay notice just after noon and I might actually still get it today (9.30pm is latest delivery time).

Why couldnt they have put on my Status at noon that there was a delay - I could have contacted them then to give them a mouthful of abuse rather than sitting here for 6 hours until I did it.

Arrgggghhhh - got nothing to play with now!

PS - if it does come tonight I publicly apologise for any offensive remarks I made to the lad about his country/race/religion etc. If it doesnt arrive tonight - I meant it!

i can tell you the reason is cause they use home dump network or yodal to give them there new name. For my sins i did 6 months with them though a agency and they are just run like a circus we would go for parcels that it was said where in the yard to take out and they would still be in the main hub also they say they can track all there parcels but they cant as half the time there are not enough handheld scanners to go around so it is sent out on a paper manifest.

I can believe that. A mate of mine worked for a parcel delivery company and the amount of stuff he would give me for free because they had cocked up the paper manifest was unbelievable. Remember him phoning me once asking if I wanted some diesel for a few pints - he turned up with 10 big barrels full of diesel. That made me smoke outside with them stacked up in the hallway

This is all my tracking status says:

Date Depot Action
08/11/2011 11:36:00 DROITWICH2 The parcel has been sorted at our hub
