Perforated finger ends. I once seen a painter needing stitched on account of these hateful things. Never been that unlucky yet.

I wonder if those kevlar gloves would be up to the job?

Got to work out cheaper if you take them up and then fit new ones afterwards. It means you can work a lot faster.

I doubt it, we used to wear Kevlar gloves all the time at work and they are superb at preventing you cutting your hands from sharp edges such as glass and knives, but they are often useless against perforation injuries caused by sharp pointed objects as they often go through the holes where the Kevlar is woven!

ive got kids always jumping my fence to get in the back garden, the kids are my partners nephews, we have told them and told the mother who isnt arsed as long as there are out from under her feet, so im buying a pack of gripper rods nexts week to run along the top of the fence in the the inside. lol

Thinking about a solution to this problem an idea might be to glue some felt on the back of some bull nose UPVC strip. This would then be pushed down on the gripper to protect your hands and the bull nose would give access to the skirting for rubbing down and painting.

Anyone can be arsed to trial it

Slip a length of uPVC capping over the gripper rod with it's edge stuck under the skirting?



Would also serve to stop your paint brushes picking up dust and dirt from the floor.

Thick grease on the top of fencing is a better deterrent - no likelihood of Mr Plod feeling your collar for personal injury (even WITH signs you can be done apparently). Dog sh1t if you have a dog.... your own if you don't

I read on another forum about someone who had put gripper strip on top of a high fence in his garden & was pleased one day when he discovered traces of skin trapped in the spikes,he was told to get rid before plod charged him instead of taking the traces & finding who was trying to rob the place.
