Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this message. I have warm air central heating and have been decorating. The old grilles were a bit mix/match and were quite old so now I'm looking at replacing them. Firstly I dont' think I have ever had registers and think these are just pressed steel grilles but at an angle.

I was hoping for them all to be vertical veins to give it a unified look and less likely to gather dust.

A) 21cm x 18cm - Air intake
B) 21cm x 18cm - Air intake
C) 27cm x 18cm - Air blows out. There is no manual switch to close the flow or change direction but they are vertical
D) 27cm x 18cm - Same as C but blows out in the opposite direction

E) 24cm x 21cm - Ait intake
F) 25cm x 15cm - Air blows out There is no manual switch to close the flow or change direction but they are vertical
G)25cm x 15cm - same as F

As there is only a 1inch gap between the edge of the wall and the side of (F) and there is only 2inch (5cm)gap between (F) and (G) I was thinking about placing a single long grille to cover both holes. It would still need to blow out at an angle away from the door. The measurements for it would be 53cm x 15cm.

Any idea where I could order or get these grilles from. Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Alistair Laing

A hit and miss vent would be an option, or a louvre vent.... plenty about in standard sizes like 250x250...

Hit and miss tend to be vertical and adjustable, louvres would be mounted horizontal, but would be very easy to dust...the downside is the air flow direction would be downward.
You may be lucky though and find a rectangular louvre vent that you could mount sideways.

I'd want all the louvres in the same direction if it were mine

Search on ebay for Louvre grilles/ducts etc...

Its not out of the question to have bespoke laser cut vents made, but would be expensive.
