i have a grant vortex combi boiler 3 yrs old. we have a problem with the low pressure light coming on. there is just over 1 bar in the system but when the pump gets hot it trips out. we have let it cool down and reset it, but the same happens. has the pump had it, can i test it or is it something else? Many thanks!!

Take the cold fill pressure up to 1.3 bar. then tell us what happens.

When you say pump do you mean for the heating.

Is the boiler cutting out on overheat.

Are you having to top the pressure up.

i have increased the pressure to 1.3 bar. the boiler fires up, central heating pump gets hot and heating works ok. but still no hot water. i have reset the boiler (( button bottom left?)combi condensor 26) still no hot water, cooled down and retried. still not right. low pressure light seems to be on all the time, but pressure gauge when heating up goes to about 2 bar. any ideas? thanks.

Which model is it.

Are you in a hard water area.

Sounds like a problem with the plate HX or divertor valve

Check the flow switch and blending valve, I think the later is adjustable.

how do i check these, is it easy to get to? the flow to the hot tap has not changed, just not warm or hot. i have noticed that as soon as you turn the hot water store switch on the low pressure light comes on, regardless of the pressure or temperature. is this any help to you?

thanks again

Would be best to get a guy in really, as one needs to be in front of it, they are easy to work on for the most part.

Don't know why the low pressure light comes on, have you checked the air vents on the boiler.
