Hi there, everyone need a bit of help. I am putting up glass mosaic tiles in a friends kitchen, they are quite thin and he has got me a load of chrome edging or trim, which is 6mm. However the tiles are only about 3-4mm in thickness, now should they be level with the edge of the trim or are they ok having a slight lip over the edge of them. If they need to be level then i will have to raise the tiles a couple of mil. I have seen pictures online of tiles with metal edging and they seem to be inside the lip and not level with it. Any ideas on what i should do would be appreciated.

Fix the trims before you tile as per normal. The mosaic must be extremely thin if the tile and adhesive bed applied with a 3mm notched mosaic trowel is drastically less than 6mm total thickness.

I am not sure off of the top of my head if you will get trims less than 6mm, even if you go to Schluter for them.

You can bed them out with Beava mosaic mesh to bring them flush with the trim. It makes them easier to handle too.

comb the wall with the 3mm serated edge,then back butter the tiles(on the mesh) with the smooth edge,this way the tiles will be level with the trim and you wont see any comb marks thro the glass tiles(if its diy)...

or just buy a L shaped tile trim...to slip into the back of the tile by a few mm and level with the top of the tiles.
