Hi all

I recently had a gas oven installed but when I connected the plug in the the plug to a socket outlet for the ignitor switch and oven lamp the RCD tripped on the distribution box. The socket outlet is part of the cooker connection unit directly from the board but the cooker MCB does not trip only the RCD.

I plugged in a kettle to chech the socket outlet and it worked fine and I used a martindale socket tester and the reading was also 100 percent no faults indicated.

Can anyone tell me what is causing the fault and how to correct it?

Thanks

It sounds like as fault in your cooker.Do you have a PAT tester? If not plug it into another socket to see if it does the same.Did it come with a plug attached? If not recheck that.
If these dont sort problem get on to your supplier its under warranty ,let them deal with it
