Hiya
wonder if someone can advise me - my gas fire has decided not to spark when its turned on, I've the service information guide and wonder which part(s) I should order - the electrode and/or Piezo unit assembly?

Havn't much faith in the last person to service it, as 2 months after the thermocoupler was replaced, it was sparking, but not holding the tiny flame on, as the dial was turned... after calling him in, he said it was now dead and skip it. not wanting to give up, so soon after spending over £100 on it, I carefully cleaned the pilot burner head with an artists brush and its worked for another year on.

One week after it's summer vacation tho, it decided it didn't want to spark
the little spark electrode just stays cold, and so do we.

Now, I know things do wear out, but it seems such a waste not to try and fix it if possible as its so good (when it's well) . Many thanks

well, looking at my query, it looks like I was going to change it myself  , just fact finding to see if the parts were still available, to save on a call out fee - that would tell me parts weren't available. electrodes seem to be available, but struggling on the piezo unit assembly.. but still not giving up yet :-)

Without checking it's difficult to diagnose but it may only be the ignition lead that needs changing. :-)
