Hi,
My garage roof is leaking so I am planning on stripping the tiles off, replacing the old felt with a modern breathable membrane type, putting the old tiles back on whist replacing any cracked or damaged ones.
At the moment I am cutting out and replacing soft and rotten wooden facia boards which is mainly on the 4 corners.
I plan to install a dry verge and ridge system too and my question relates to this.
At the back of the garage the roof batons sit on the felt, then the under cloaking and have been cut just where the facia board meets the undercloaking

At the front of the garage the roof batons have been cut before the under cloaking and the felt sits under the undercloaking.

Which way is correct ?

If I am to install a dry ridge system do you need the roof batons to extend to the edge of the undercloaking ?
I’m sure you nail the plastic covers to the edge of the roofing batons ?
If this is the case I would have to insert some packing underneath the roofing batons at the front garage end as the batons are sitting quite low, would it be OK to do this ?
