I recently installed a cylinder & boiler. I asked the customer to get a spark in to supply 2 fused outlets in the airing cupboard.
He ran a cable from the old immersion spur, to the two new patress boxes, which he joined in series from the same cable, effectivily running two outlets from the one cable, I thought you could only have one outlet on each spur?
can a spark confirm this, or say what would be the correct way of supplying two fused oulets in an airing cupboard?

I'm not a spark, so can't confirm it- But as long as the cable is the correct thickness then it is quite acceptable I believe

Morning Hinton, just got in from a night shift so checking in to see whats happening. Are you saying he has just used the circuit for the immersion to supply your two outlets? if so than as long as the immersion circuit is a radial, ie on its own feed from the fuse board , then it can feed as many outlets as you like. If however the immersion is a spur from the ring main already , then it cannot be used to supply two outlets, as the second would in effect be a spur from a spur which is not acceptable and contravenes the wiring regulations.
Off to beddy byes now i feel , 14 hour shift is enough for me.

I think its a radial from diectly from the CU... I knew there was an issue with spuring a spur from a spur!
