Hi all,

I am in the process of getting the some decorating done around the house. I've pulled the carpet up in the hall way and the under lay was soaked, the leak is coming from the front door...

I've took a picture as I don't know the technical name. The door is a composite UPVC type door, it's a ex council house

The exterior is closest to you as you look at the image

I thought I could solve the problem by unscrewing and pulling it out, resealing it and refitting. But the leak seems to be coming from between the door and the bit in the picture. On the bottom of the door, there is three rubber flipper type seals. This needs replacing as they have been damaged in places but it is leaking where the seals are in tack

Where can you get replacement seals from? I assume you have to remove the door to remove and refit? How does it seal? If the water runs down the door and is kept from coming into the house by the seals, where does the water drain off? I don't understand how it can drain off as there doesn't seem to be anywhere that allows it to.

Thanks for any advice,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Can you do a pic from a bit further out, I'm struggling with this one a bit!
