 Post subject: Fridge freezer

Hi there, my son-inlaw last night in his wisdom was trying to remove ice in his integrated fridge freezer using first a blunt tool and yes you have guessed it! a sharp one, he pierced the casing and it looks like he has also caught one of the refridgerant pipes (you really have to know him)
My question is do the two units work independently or do they as I figure it work as one, I guess it's goosed.

Yes, I did the same thing many years ago, the gas blew out and that was it. It is just not cost effective to try to repair them and he will have to bite the bullet and replace it I am afraid.
