Just thought i'd post this up in case anyone else is having trouble with there Ford CD6006E head unit
mine stopped playing cd's and kept coming up with error code 4,after some digging around on the net i found it was just down to dirt on the lens

tools required

2 radio removal keys (supplied by a mate)
T8 security bit
Cotton buds
Isopropyl alcohol
lap top with how to's from google
followed a couple topics i found on the net firstly most say you need the radio code to remove the unit this isnt the case there is enough slack on the cables to remove the unit and rest it on the gear change.plus you need it powered to clean the lens
remove the top cove by removing the 2 T8 screws
press load button this lets you get to the lens.
apply a little Isopropyl alcohol to a cotton bud and gently clean the lens
put it all back together and presto i now have a working cd player
i should have took some pictures but there are plenty on the net should anyone need them,and youtube videos too
