I was parted from my (well actually my Dads) Footprints when I gave them to my nephew who subsequently lost them Bang Head

In a collection of tools I picked up (you know with the chisels) there are 2 sets of Footprint Wrenches.

One large and one small. Lovely, lovely, lovely wrench. I forgot just how good they are (I'll get a picture if anyone needs to know what they look like) and these are stamped Footprint too so originals.

I used them today. Forget all your fancy turned head spanners and sockets and adjustables these guys Rock in the plumbing world and rightly so.

As a special treat I think I'll go give them a rub down with some fine wire wool and a dollop of grease!

Razz I LOVE my FOOTPRINT! (is this wrong?)

They look like adjustable plummer pliers. Do you know how old they are? What year they were made in?

Don't know but they are still made and available and not as expensive as some others.

I've searched before and couldn't find them but here is the site http://www.footprint-tools.co.uk/default.htm

My Dad was a Plumber from around 1945/6 after he left the navy and his were old when he gave them to me, they had that smooth used feel to them.

The 2 I have now are similar in that they feel like they've done some work and have lost their 'ruff' edges, if you know what I mean?

Are the jaws smooth or do they have teeth?

It is always amazing how tools that are that old are made. Very simple in design and work great. I have seem some older tools that work so well that they put the newer ones to shame.

To adjust them you have to take the nut out of them and move them up or down, right?

Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but B&Q sell Footprint wrenches as per the traditional design and still made by Footprint
