Hi fella's
this may be a stupid question, but, how do i determine which is the flow and which is the return, i have two pipes coming from the ceiling that used to service a rad, and want to join into them, is it a floorboard up job?
Thanks
Steve

Short of following them you could turn the boiler on and see which gets hot first.

If you have drained the system, and cut the pipes, you could disconnect the zone valve and blow down the pipe, you would have to turn both valves off on all the rads, and it's not a 100%.

If you use by-directional valves its not that important
