Hi,

I have relatively heavy beech shelving which I'm aiming to put up in my Kitchen.

THe walls are plasterboard (dabbed) so bearing in mind the shelves are to house several heavy books, I'm wondering what the best fixing would be ?

Seen Plasplugs metal self-drive but these only allow for a 10mm depth of the item to be fixed.

CAn you recommend an appropriate fixing.

Thanks.

I also remember a couple of years ago I recieved a sample of a two part fixing made of metal where you drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the plasterboard and fitted a collar into that. This collar then had an inner barrel which screwed into it so that it was in contact with the wall behind. A normal plug and screw then went through the middle of the whole lot and when tightened the metal parts would transfer the load back to the wall.

I saw a post about them either on here or over on TT, but can't find it now.[/url]
