hi rob, what is the timber going to do? if it is not too heavy you could stick it on with gripfil or a polyurethane glue.

Could you not use blind bolts?

Coach bolts, stagered along the flange is usually what we are asked to drill for.

The beam is a shallow PFC so cant cut joists into one side of it and otherside is a bit shallow so better to use c16 timber, even with this on top PFC wont be deeper than Joist.
Thanks
