Hi All,

What’s the best way to fix plasterboard to the underside of stairs? I think I need to batten the underneath, but i’m not sure what the best way to fix it - i’m guessing that fixing battens to the treads is not good because of the flex.

Thanks in advance.

The treads shouldn't be flexing, if they are it's best to sort that out first.

A batten down the centre is the normal method, if the treads are flexing then consider installing a carriage beam which will be thicker than a batten, you may need to batten down the string/s as well, (probably a different size to the central batten) it all depends on each individual situation.

One day it will all be firewood.
