Hi

I'm thinking of installing the wooden wickes loft ladder as it get good reviews.

It requires a ceiling hole width of 545mm, but the space between my joists is 555mm.

So, I'm wondering how I cope with the 10mm gap between the frame and the joists? I guess padding it by fixing a piece of plywood to one of the joists would do the trick?

put a link in for the loft ladder.........................there is different ones, so it will be better to know which is the one you want.

After all, you may not have to do anything!

Hi

Made a mistake in my original post, the wickes one was the one I was thinking of fitting before I realised the frame is 570mm wide. I only have 555mm between the joists so I don't see how I could fit it?

Use packers all around then trim it.
