Hi all, have been reading up about fitting shower pumps and will be doing it soon'ish. From what I've seen I need to fit a Essex flange to my cold water tank in the loft and a Surrey flange to the Hot water Cylinder. My question is this, do I just empty the CWT and drill the appropriate size hole in the bottom, up a bit from the base and in one of the flat zones, then just fit the flange? This seems to simple to be true but what do I know, I'm a gardener not a plumber, or a sparky for that matter, or a builder, come to think of it am I doing!?!?!?! Saving money and spending it on a holiday

Any help would be great.

It's not an Essex flange you fit to the cistern it's just a tank connector. For a diyer look no further than a 22mm speedfit one like this: http://www.plumb nation.co.uk/site/speedfit-tank-connector/

It should be installed just lower than the outlet that feeds the hot water cylinder if possible to ensure you don't get scalded if you run out of water

However as I spent £1500 on fittings there last month and it's where all my copper fittings come from I think they will let it go this time

I must be special, it is my 4th . Just had a look at that site Razor, seems expensive compared to the one I intend to use, is this a bad thing, are there different qualities of copper out there?
