Anyone who is using the latest version, v5+ of Firefox and used to use the 'New Tab Homepage' addon which, when clicking to open a new tab, opened new tabs displaying your Homepage, will have found out that the addon no longer works in this version.
Until the addon is updated here is a quick work-around if you want a new tab to open in your Homepage.

Either,
Middle click (using the wheel on your mouse) when pointing at the Homepage icon in your address/toolbar.

Or ,
Ctrl + left click on the Homepage icon.

Simple but it took me ages to work it out.

I think I must have it set up differently :dunno:

To open a new tab I press ctrl + T

Hi John,
Ctrl+T opens a new tab but in FFv5 it is the blank page,

Using the work-arounds I suggested opens the new tab and it displays your Homepage, what ever that is set at.

I use the button on my toolbar that says "New Tab, :huray: (but I don't think that's what Dave is talking about).

One thing I've noticed with FF5 is that when in my previous browser (FF3.5) I opened a link from within a tab it always used to put the new tab at the RH end of any tabs already open, now it puts them to the immediate right of the tab I'm in.

Can this be changed?

AJ,
I removed the New Tab icon from the toolbar, into the customize section, for the time being as when I click on it just to open a new tab it opens a plain white pane with 'New Tab' in the in the tab.

My Homepage is iGoogle with some gadgets on it and my search bar (I don't have one in my toolbars) and if I want to use any of the gadgets I used to just have to click 'New Tab' in the toolbar and the iGoogle Homepage opened in the new tab. Now it just opens a plain white window.

AJ,
Regarding the order that your tabs display when you click on a link, I knew I would find something, this addon works in Palemoon v5 and also Firefox v5 and v6:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... t-the-end/

Problem solved.
