I know that firefox is the preferred browser of some nerds and geeks  but I am having a few problems with it, please see attached picture.

It comes up with this error message a few minutes after starting it up.

I have tried updating firefox and flash, but it still does the same thing.

Firefox closes down a few seconds after the error.

Thanks foggy, but it did not work.

I'm using IE from now on, until that breaks

I didn't want to say it before because you were looking for a solution to fix Firefox. However, now that you have abandoned firefox, let me recommend Opera. I went from IE to Firefox and loved it. Eventually though I got tired of Firefox needing fixes. I switched gradually to Opera and it has been my main browser for over 2 years. It's absolutely solid for stability and has some neat little tricks up it's sleeves if you can be bothered learning the mouse moves.

I urge anyone who hasn't tried it to install it.

There are very few websites that aren't tested in opera these days. I can't remember coming across any in the past 12 months that I needed to change browser for.
As for the add-ons, I haven't found any need for any so I don't know how they perform.

Try this link to solve your problem:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Usi ... in_Firefox

You need the special Shockwave flash plug in with Firefox, not the regular Active X system that would work in IE. Frankly, as Firefox is a far better browser and way more secure than IE, I would investigate this issue, rather than giving up. Also, the new plug in is now Player 10, not 9, so your player is out of date. On Firefox, if you go to 'tools>addons>plugins' look for Shockwave Flash, which is the Mozilla plug in for Firefox. See how many versions you have and delete the old ones. If you don't have any Shockwave plugins, go to Mozilla and follow the link to download the newest Shockwave version. I think that this is actually a Flashplayer issue, rather than a Firefox one. Hope this helps.
