Hello all,

I’m currently prepping my front room for decorating and I’ve noticed a lovely crack right down the Center of the wall and also a few around where the wall meets the roof. Just wondering what people’s suggestions would be on the matter. I’d also like an opinion on how to tackle the crack at the top of the wall.

Vertical crack, rake out a bit to form a "V" shape, mix up the filler of your choice, push into the crack with a filling knife slightly over fill then clean the filling knife and swipe off any excess with one smooth movement... you may need to sand lightly after.

Ceiling crack needs more work, brush out any loose/flaking plaster, slightly wet the area to be filled (paint brush dipped in water)

Fill to within a few mm of the surface. leave to dry. wet again . fill as per the vertical crack.

You may choose to use ready mixed filler, I find it too grainy.

Thank you very much for your reply. I made a little "V" shaped grove along the vertical crack and filled it and then a quick sand once it had dried. It looks great now. Thanks again! :)
