just to get the ball rolling on this machine, i'll start the thread.
I got my one from http://www.tradetiler.com/acatalog/Fein_Multimaster.html
Its been my main tool of choice now. Its one of those ones you didnt know how you ever did without it.
Mainly used for window refrub, you can cut a square out a corner of a frame, and replace with new. You would have had to chisel out before.
Use it to cut floorboards, ready for lifting
Use it as a sander, not as aggressive as my delta dewalt, but good for keying paintwork.
Use it to remove tile grout (doing this in about 1hrs time!)
Use it to cut skirting boards, ready for laminate
Buy it now _________________ Go on, adopt a greyhound http://www.dgrescue.org.uk/ .......................................................................... |

It looks like a very impressive tool, and you always give it a good review
I might have to invest in one eventually _________________ DIY | DIY Video |

Are you questioning how you managed without it (mines a decent chopsaw) or how many times it has paid for itself (nail gun for me)? _________________ Building Materials Sourcing

How did I used to manage without a decent chopsaw?
Nail gun on site pays for itself very quickly (why did I bother with a hammer for so long?) _________________ Building Materials Sourcing

which bit dont you get
he cant cut mitres without a saw
and is slow with a hammer

| I saw this in the US on an infomercial and want one! Looks like a perfect too for me! Of course they don't tell you how much it is until you do the research on your own. I don't know how to convert pounds to US dollars, but here in the US it is over $300!! The price really scares me not being able to find any reviews on it. |

$300 is about £150.00, at the current exchange rate.
I thought that these would of been much cheaper in the US because of economies of scale. Tools are normally much cheaper in the US.
I keep trying to justify buying a multimaster as they do some pretty unique things, but the blades can be expensive! _________________ DIY | DIY Video |

Bosch now do a green version at £70 called a PMF 180. First to sell it was Argos, now in my local B&Q.
Blades only seem available from RAI at present but sure to be in the shops soon, less than half the price of Fein.
Good bit of kit, well pleased with mine.

I did have a Fein Multimaser and used to think it was the best thing since sliced bread.
About a year and a half or so ago It was stolen out of my Van. I can honestly say that I have not come across a single job where I have said that I wish I had the multimaster, this speaks volumes and is the reason I will not replace the tool. |
