Family anger at Raoul Moat death.
Angus Moat criticised the police for their use of Taser stun guns saying:
"It's chucking it down with rain, it's a really heavy rainstorm, he's on a grassy bank, he's soaked to the skin in non-water-proofed clothing and he's got a gun to his head.
"If you hit him with a Taser he's going to go into involuntary spasms. If he's got his finger on the trigger, that spasm will possibly involuntarily pull that trigger."

Sounds like the best conditions going to use a Taser.

Good old Gazza wanted to help him but, to be honest, I don't think he really wanted a Newcastle FC shirt just at that time, nor the chicken. "Thanks Gazza."

Must have saved Camerons team a couple of million in legal costs and life jail term. It all helps to balance the books sooner.

Were the tasers fired before or after the gunshot. On the footage I've heard it sounds like it was after :dunno:.

If it was before it may have been a case of he was looking to top himself and the police tried to disable him (clearly didn't work) or he could have been about to have a go at the negotiating team :dunno: . I can't see the police sitting there for several hours then thinking, oh sod this I wanna go home lets taser him

Conflicting news at the the moment.

Some say he's dead, others say in hospital.

The copper that he shot in the face (requiring substantial facial reconstruction) is also blind in both eyes.

Raol Moat should be rotting in hell by now - if there's any justice in the afterlife.

Oi cheeky... not everything about the NHS is bad you know!! It's a good job you don't live closer otherwise I'd threaten to give you a bed bath like an old man!!!

And Dave is right... his body is probably in the chiller at the hospital mortuary.

To be honest, I don't really know what to make of the whole sorry affair. He's killed and seriously injured people and I don't believe that there is ever a sentence long enough or harsh enough to deal with that. However, I really don't like the way that things ended, it seems so barbaric.

I can talk about the NHS from experience, 2 years with cancer, and they still think I had piles. ::b

Within 4 weeks of going private they had diagnosed the problem and operated to remove it.

As for the bed bath, when your flat on your back and high on morphine, I salute you and all the front line workers that are brilliant. :thumbright:

[quote="skiking"]Were the tasers fired before or after the gunshot. On the footage I've heard it sounds like it was after :dunno:.

One was fired just before he shot himself (it failed to penetrate his flesh) and one fired at the same time he actually pulled the trigger of his shot-gun.
