I have fitted an exterior light with PIR, and Hi Lo Sensor. The light comes on at dusk correctly, but when it detects motion instead of getting brighter it flickers very quickly.
Help please!

What sort of bulb have you put in it? What sort of bulb does it require?

Ian,
:welcome:

I noticed that you registered with a US IP address but a UK Email address.
Is this light fitting in the UK with 240v or in the US with 120v?

It is in the UK with 240v. The bulb is a standard energy saving bulb - not sure of the wattage

Not sure I understand the question? The lamp is a single unit which I have fitted to the external wall. Does that make sense? I cant see how it could be the sensor as the light clearly activates when it senses movement - but instead of getting brighter it flickers.

I would try it with a normal incandescent bulb, I have a feeling the low energy type don't like being switched this way.

Change the word lamp to bulb and reread the question Rich asked you.

Bulbs are for growing plants and lamps are for lightfittings :-)
