Hi,

I live in a rented flat and I'm going to call the letting agency tomorrow but would like some advise on what I can do now.

On Saturday I heard a bang and myself and girlfriend tried to look what the noise was and we couldn't find anything. We thought it must of come from the flat upstairs as it was a loud bang.

I've just gone into a small room with have with the boiler in and I noticed the large jubilee clip on the floor. It looks as if the weight of the vessel has just sheared it.

I looked at the expansion vessel and noticed it had fell and landed on top of the boiler, pretty lucky really cause an inch to the left it would of fell to the floor.

I have moved it so its in the corner so it cannot fall but its resting on the copper pipe although it feels strong. I've put some cardboard between the wall and vessel to try and take the weight off the pipe.

Is this ok or should I place it where it landed?

It has been ok since Saturday but now I know about it I'm worried that if it filled with water it could roll off where as now it the position its in it can't fall although on the pipe.

Thanks

Get on to the letting agent asap.

A pic would help.

That's the expansion vessel for the unvented cylinder, tell the agent you want an engineer with a G3 unvented ticket, to sort it out, sooner than later.

It's ok where it is for now, but the cylinder needs checking.

Ok thanks, could it be damaged?

I have used the pole from a beach umbrella fitted over the bolt to hold it up and put cardboard against the tank to keep it level which has took the weight off the pipe.

If it's full of water it probably needs a new one, which is why they should check it out.

Is any water discharging into the tun dish.

I'm not sure and don't know how to check sorry but I haven't noticed any problems with the water since we heard the fall.

Thanks for your help.
