I am about to buy a mitre cutoff saw.
I think that Evolution's Rage3 is a really good
product judging from the promotional video.

What do you think? Is there anyone here who use this machine? Any reviews, thoughts, etc?
My only concern is the low speed of the blade. Only 2500rpm, while other give 4000 or more.
What about its price? Any special offer anywhere?

Not sure about the cut off saw, but I know someone with the circular saw and it is very good and can cut throgh metal and wood with the same blade.

Perhaps it has to revolve at a lower speed to prevent the blade from over heating?

Yes, the Rage 3 is revolving at only 2500 rpm while others revolve at 4500 rpm. I think this is a good thing as the metal piece is not heated a lot and with less possibilities of distortion.

I just watched that video and it looks very impressive.

Some of the clamps and guides for locking the angles look a bit plastic, but you cannot argue with the results of the saw. I'm impressed with it on that video Wink

Yes, the blades on the evolution tools are very impressive. I know how hard it is to cut metal and for them to develop a blade that can cut both wood and metal is amazing, especially as you do not have to use a cooling fluid on the metal.
