Hi somapop,

Sorry a bit slow to reply, yes in short I did go with Patrick's advice in our kitchen, i.e. used the eco pearls on top of moisture barrier, Vitrex underlay and the flooring on top. It has worked great. The main issue I had was with holding the eco pearls in at the edges, as I had to do the floor in sections over several days due to time constraints. But I found a batten taped down to the floor works pretty well to hold it together until the next section can be started. (I also stuck battens under some of the kitchen units to have something to form an edge to work up to.)

This was in our kitchen/diner, next up I have to lay the flooring in the front section of the house - a bit tricky as there are a few doors & corners etc., but we'll use the same method to bring the floor to the same height throughout & I'm not expecting much trouble.

Many thanks for the advice on the thread, I reckon it's saved us a lot of struggle!

Best wishes,
Gavin.
