Investigated a bit more last night. Used a socket tester which gave a 'N missing' reading. I traced the wires again and went through each socket and junction box. Once more I found nothing. But tested the sockets again anyway - and the sockets are back on.

"n" missing is usually just that, the socket tester has detected that Earth and Neutral are not one and the same, You might be running off a neutral wire from one "end" of the ring, the other side is broken. The test I described earlier will conform this. Get a sparkie in.

I had a neutral down in the bedroom 2 double sockets, no workies ::b

Ended up pulling a new cable in. :thumbright:
