Just been painting and when had a double socket removed the earth wire goes into the socket hosing on the back and not into the double socket itself however there is a wire in there whay has came out.

Should the wire go into the housing or socket ?

To the socket. The optional flylead goes from the socket to the backbox.

Brilliant thanks i will take the earth out the backbox and put into socket and the small flylead from socket to backbox
