Common failure apparently - often needs replacement of the throttle body. Suggested fixes include cleaning the throttle body, checking the wiring/connections, lubricating the throttle pedal mechanism etc.

Dealer fix is £700-ish - off street garages will be substantially lower.

Thanks. Started first time this morning, so hopefully it's nothing too serious.

EAC Fail on the fiesta is ultra common, It needs to be diagnosed correctly and not to throw parts at it - TB and throttle codes can be misleading and they need to be tested

worse case your looking a replacement ECU - But I would check with a main dealer if there is a ECU update for you car

iirc the ecu is next to the battery (2002-2008) can you read the part number from it ?

Edit. these are the 2 most common ecu's that fail

-2S6A-12A650-SE / S118107002F / 4ROS
-2S6A-12A650-SG / S118107002K / 4ROV
