has anyone ever watched a movie with the directors commentary on?

I really dont understand why anyone would, please explain

I have just got the 007 box set with all the movies in it, they are all 2 disk movies, and theres commentary on every movie :shock:

As a side note, the box set appears to be very good, and only cost £65 in hmv.............hours of entertainment

I think that some movies with Director's commentary are interesting, not all though. They often explain what they were trying to achieve in the way it was edited, the special effects used and they sometimes show out takes. My ex was a Film Director and his dad a film producer and they were interesting when telling stories about the actors in big films they worked on like The Dirty Dozen, Lolita and Our man in Havana (on tv yesterday).

I have listened to some commentries on twilight zone episodes and they are just dross. It is like they are recording two blokes watching the TV and talking over it all the time
