used this type for a while. The main advantage is it has a plastic backing which makes the sheet more rigid. This means it doesnt ruck up when you walk on it, and stays where you put it down.

As for spills, the backing obviously helps, but when you fold it up the backing starts to crack up (at the folds after a few months of use), meaning you couldnt 100% depend on it not stopping a spill.

Worth sticking one on your next toolstation order.

I have one of these and as Handyman says very useful 'though does crack after a while.

Stop tread through of spills and stuff, came in handy doing bathrooms, kitchen etc.

Use a few times and throw away if really dirty.

I have washed mine over the years and still going OK, wouldn't trust the backing now though.

So cheap you could pretty much add £10 onto every job that needs one. :thumbright:

That's the advantage of wifey still working while I'm retired, have been known to put car tools in dishwasher after a dirty job, put them in a oily towel (old) keeps them nice and clean.

Got caught once, at the same time I was 'cooking' a BSA Chain in renolds chain grease on the stove.

John Mrs C is still at work (until 31 October 2008) and I am retired. However, she seems to have eyes in the back of her head :cb so she would soon find out methinks.

Anyway I have nearly finished all of the decorating so may be I will not need the dust sheets anymore (some hope!)
