It's hard to price this kind of job up as there is a damn lot of work to be done. At first £5800 seem like a lot of money but when you think about the size of the property and the amount of work involved it puts things into perspective. It'll be interesting to see what the other quotes come out at Wink

exactly we cant take this quote seriously yet as we have not had any other quotes once we get a few more quotes then we will know where we stand.
once the planning has been sorted i think this will be turneda round within 2 months.

That is a quick turnaround!

Most of the houses I have done, I have done the work myself, which takes much longer. Sometimes I guess it is much easier and faster to get some professional help!

Out of curiosity have you worked out just how much it will be for the materials for this job? I bet you are talking a couple of thousand for the materials alone!

no we have not worked it out for ourselves, maybe we should just to get a rough idea. We are in no way builders we are just the demolition team!! great at smashing things down but useless at putting things back up.
lucky for us our neighbour.
the house which we currently have for sale took 5 months to turn around and that was a big job.

well i thought i would post a little update with regards to some quotes we have had.

Our first quote that we had was from a company that we found in the yellow pages, i didnt really like the look of them as they turned up in a porsche!! anyway the work that we are having done is, some walls are being dot and dabbed and some others are being battoned depending on the state of the walls, also we are having all the ceilings lowered. These people quoted £6000.

Then we had a plasterer in who we had in to plaster our brand new kitchen and garage conversion last year, he did a fantastic job. He came back with a quote of ..........£20,000!!! We think he doesnt really want the work as it is a little out of his way but that is one massive jump from £6000 to £20,000.

we are now waiting on a quote from our builder.
so its just a case of wait and see!!
