Ok, so I am now considering gravel for my driveway (260 m2). I am now looking at doing the following:-

1. Purchase core gravel stabiliser 38mm or 50mm version
2. Purchase Breedon Buff stone in 10mm, 14mm or 20mm

My questions are:-

1. Has anyone seen or come across this gravel? http://www.breedon-special-aggregates.c ... eedon-buff

2. How much per tonne should I expect to pay?

3. The 38mm core gravel system is only good up to 14 or16mm gravel. With this in mind should I go for the 10mm or14mm breedon buff or invest a little bit more money and get the 50mm core gravel capable of taking the 20mm and get a bit more strength in the stone?

4. Is the breedon buff considered a strong enough stone for driveways?

5. would you recommend any other type of stone or gravel for a driveway? I'm looking for the same colour as the breedon buff? Is a buff colour available in granite?

Thanks and hope you can answer these questions?.

Mark

i wouldn't go for anything less than 20mm gravel as the previous owner of my house did the drive in 10mm gravel and every time i drive away i leave a trail of the stuff, which collects in the tyre treads nicely. but at this rate i wont need a skip to get rid of the stuff

Is this a common problem? What about with anular gravel in a stabiliser?

I was looking at breedon buff which is 6mm to 14mm. Any bigger and the nida gravel stabiliser doesn't support over 15mm

What type of gravel did you have?

Is this the same for annular gravel?

Has anyone heard of Rekin Gravel stabaliser? I had a quote from one building merchant and I think he said it was Rekin but can't find anything searching on the internet so not sure if it's a good idea going for it. I may well have simply got the the name wrong though.

The leaders I keep coming across are:-

Core Gravel
Nida Gravel

Are there any others worth taking a look at that are capable of supporting 20mm gravel?
