where i live they added something to the pea-shingle around trees to keep in place but council will not tell me what they used

Hello, the councils all use a system called resin bonded surface dressing on their tree surrounds/pathways. Have a look at the link to see what i mean, it is not a DIY job though as it can get very very messy and is not the cheapest way of doing your driveway, but does look the mutts nuts when finished. The other way as shown above is fine for parks and things, but just doesnt have the wow factor for me, they all look dull and boring coloured .

I did some of the pathways round my newbuild house in resin bonded surface dressing last year. Not cheap and not something to put on a drive if the car's wheels are going to be turned on it. i.e. OK only if you drive straight in & out.

I can't remember the exact price, but it was something like £30 a sq m.

thanks for that Stoday.
glad you told me as yes both my wife and myself have to turn the wheels to get in and out due to small wall so have to look out for something else. the area is quite small around 9 sq m

i would check with the manafacturers befor discounting the resin bonded gravel, I am sure that not everyone has a straight in and out drive, so if its installed by an approved installer then they would sureley have to give a warrranty on their work ,
