Did anyone watch Dragons den tonight?

Did you see the guy with the power 8 workshop?

new-power-tool-idea-t11670.html

I met him at the Tool fair-

power-8-workshop-t17951.html

He just got an investment from 2 of the dragons :thumbleft:

I'm sure that the saw he had on there was just a copy of the Fein Multimaster

Good luck to him :thumbright:

Nice colour scheme.

As a business point of view i though the guy was very calm and would have walked away if he hadn't got the lower deal.

Love the way the company was setup. With the tax free bvi holding company, i thought james caan might have been interested.

As from a tool point of view, not many all-in-ones do as good as seperates but still think it will sell well.

Agree it sounded like a fein/bosch type tool but they didn't know.

Maybe we will see one as a competition prize on here one day.

I've never seen a left-handed table saw before.

And as for cross cutting using the rip fence...

When I approached him at the toolfair, I was unsure if I had banned him or not

He suggested he might donate a prize at the toolfair, but never mentioned it again after that!

From a business point of view it looked like the kind of product that a lot of the general public would buy....try it.....chuck it under the stairs.

It looked pretty naff......how sturdy and accurate can that pillar drill be and the table saw........just looked like a cheap pile of plastic really.

Good luck to the guy......he came across very well and will make millions but as for the product, as a pro needing top notch tools......I'm Out!

i am by no means a pro, just a keen DIYer and it all looked cheap and nasty to me as well, whenever you see these 'all in one' tools they are a just a compromise to a dedicated tool so you end up spending more in the long run and get the tool you needed in the first place (or that might just be me)

Fully agree, I have wasted a lot of dosh getting an all-in-one tools before. I actually buy BOSCH blue now for heavy use core DIY tools (e.g SDS drill) as you can get it for not much more cost that the Green version on ebay and the blue seems to leave out all the useless crap that comes with the DIY range.

Also I can never understand why they don't give a 4m lead with the green. Its great not having to get out the extension lead most of the time

when he ran the thread on here i suggested the drill stand wasnt robust enough and a third or larger capacity batteries would be required before any trade person would even consider the tool
